WORSHIP: FOCUSING ON THE DIVINE
Sunday Morning Worship Services 10:30 a.m.
We can encounter the Divine at any time. When we pay attention to the world we encounter each and every day, we have the opportunity to see God in everything. This can be an act of worship, a spiritual practice that brings joy and hope to our lives and allows us to experience God’s presence.
In addition to the encounters we have with God each and every day, we at Parkdale United Church gather together on Sunday mornings at 10:30 to be intentional about worship. We pause to be still, listen, hear God’s Word, sing praise, offer prayers of thanksgiving and concern, participate in sacraments of communion and baptism, and reflect on what it is that God might be calling each of us to do and be.
It takes a team of people who join together to create meaningful worship services:

Our minister, Rev. Kim Holmes-Younger, leads the worship service and offers a weekly reflection

Our Music Director, Antonina Cox, and members of the choir lead us in singing

Scripture readers

Greeters and ushers
-
Those who prepare and serve the bread and juice for our Communion services

People who operate the sound and projection equipment
-
Individuals who design and create banners and who decorate the sanctuary for special services

Those who prepare refreshments for coffee time after the service.
Sacraments
At Parkdale United Church, we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion monthly as well as on special Sundays such as Easter Sunday. We also celebrate the sacrament of Baptism throughout the year, welcoming new members to the church.
Worship is also experienced at special times of celebration, including Weddings, Anniversaries and Celebrations of Life.

Weddings at Parkdale United -- In the United Church, we see each person as a unique, loved creation of God, and welcome all people to the full life of Christian community, including marriage. Funerals at Parkdale United -- Parkdale United Church is here to support you in honouring the death of your loved one. Our ministry will provide pastoral care and memorial or funeral services, regardless of the deceased person’s formal relationship with the congregation. Services are reverent, uplifting celebrations of the individual’s life. Read more.
